Pillows Hotel

The staff were kind, but the cleaning was awful. There were clumps of hair from the lobby all the way to our room at check-in, plus a hair and a dead cockroach on the floor that looked like they hadn’t swept. I also saw maggots crawling on the garage bathroom floor. Soundproofing barely exists, either. We were on the sixth floor and could hear everything outside loudly. We paid almost 15000 pesos for two nights during Sinulog. Even allowing for the festival, there’s no reason this should cost that much. The facilities and room features feel like a 1.5-star budget hotel, despite the 3-star listing. It needs maintenance and much better cleaning. At around $25 USD with better cleaning, it could be a decent budget hotel. If it costs more than that, stay elsewhere.

It’s right in the city center, with easy access to transport for Colon, Cebu Business Park, IT, Sm Seaside, and SM City. The rooms were very clean, and I liked that it’s a “Green” hotel with no single-use plastics. The bathrooms and showers were clean too. Staff were always smiling and friendly. Strong WiFi, a smart TV, and superb air conditioning. I’ll book here again on my next visit to Cebu City. 5's all the way 😊

I had an unpleasant stay, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. We booked ahead and contacted them with a request, but nobody replied. The room smelled like fresh paint, the complimentary water was empty, and when I asked for a refill, no one did anything. The towels were dirty white and almost like rugs. You also have to pay for refill tissue paper. There was no deposit option except cash. They asked for my valid ID at check-in and didn’t return it. No one contacted me to say they still had it. I had to call and ask. They offered no solution or compensation, and only called me back after I said I’d file a complaint. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever booked.

The staff were accommodating and friendly, though the process could be improved and some things, like the bidet, need fixing. WiFi was consistent, even if it wasn’t 5G. Breakfast is free but à la carte, and there’s a 1k-peso security deposit. Early check-in costs an extra 500 pesos.
