Mou, the activities and tour coordinator, was friendly and helpful with planning my activities. When a problem came up on a tour, she handled it promptly and efficiently. Thanks also to the security guards who helped me call tricycles. My other interactions with staff were disappointing. I try to be friendly because I know service work is hard, but they seemed very disinterested. When I asked for water on check-in day while waiting several hours for my room, I was charged 65 php for a bottle, though I saw another guest get one for free. I don’t know what happened. Laundry communication was also confusing. Maybe the staff are overworked, but I didn’t get the friendliness other reviewers describe. I stayed five nights. The room was spacious, fairly clean, and comfortable, though dated, with plenty of dings and scratches on the furniture that didn’t really matter. There was a mold smell as soon as I entered, and it stayed even with the bathroom door closed. The toilet flushed very slowly and sometimes needed two flushes. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. Communication needs to improve, and the mold smell in room 320 should be addressed.

When ferry problems cancelled our trip to El Nido, the front desk helped us extend our stay in Coron. Mary at reception and Mou, who arranged a day trip around Coron, were especially helpful. We heard it was Mary’s last day, and the hotel is losing a valuable employee. Clearer communication between night and morning staff, with requests properly documented and followed up, would help. We picked this hotel because it’s close to the port, which made getting around easy, and they offer airport transfers both ways. We had a very good stay and appreciated the help when our plans changed. I’d come back on my next trip to Coron.

We were there the first week of January and had a great stay. The tours on offer were good value and worth recommending. Our room was spotless, the staff were attentive and friendly, and breakfast was fantastic.

Everything else about the place was perfect, but the bed may be a dealbreaker if you care about sleep comfort. The mattress is only about 10 cm of fabric over a hard board, which felt pretty strange. Still, it's a really great place.
