Star Hotel Davao

Good value for the price, with the things you generally need. The rooms are average in size, and the AC and hot and cold shower worked. Wi-Fi was a bit spotty, but breakfast was good enough. At this price, you can’t really complain.

You don't get to use the TV remote, so you're stuck with the one music channel they chose. For a hotel calling itself three stars, that's disappointing. They also keep changing the room rates. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I really liked the room: it had plenty of space, a separate spot to study, extra chairs, and even a bathtub. Service was fine, though having to eat in a private room made the dining setup feel odd on our first day. The hotel is a bit of a walk from convenience stores, but I still had a pleasant stay. 🤩

The buffet was great value at 599, especially with Davao buffets usually around 800 to 1,000 or more these days. They included coffee from Paramount Coffee, and the Father's Day celebrants got complimentary banana chips, a thoughtful touch. The food was good, the staff were quick and friendly, and we left full and happy. We went on June 16, 2024, and the place wasn't too crowded. Given the food, service, and price, I thought it deserved more customers. They apparently don't serve dinner buffets every day, so I'll look out for the next one and would happily return and recommend it to friends.
