What stood out most was the staff, especially the security personnel, who were attentive and helpful with our senior citizens using wheelchairs. It was a pleasant, comfortable stay, and I’d definitely recommend it for families. When I return to Davao, I’ll stay at Royal Mandaya again. I booked several rooms for my family because the location is right in the heart of Davao and it was more affordable than nearby hotels that couldn’t meet our requirements. The beds were large and comfortable, there’s a gym, and the pool area was peaceful and uncrowded, a nice place to relax. Breakfast was included with our bookings, and the buffet was very good.

The bed was fine, and breakfast was okay. Staff were courteous and helpful, and there are plenty of restaurants outside, with a familiar convenience store on the corner. The place is old, though, and the TV isn't smart. There are only a few cable channels.

The air conditioning wasn't working, and there was a cockroach in the bathroom. I reported it at 7:20 AM, but the front desk took nearly an hour to respond and only did so after I followed up with another complaint. We'd booked Royal Mandaya at the last minute to unwind after a spa day. I was especially let down because I persuaded my husband to stay there based on our past experiences, but the service has really declined. We checked out December 30, 2025. I won't come back or recommend the hotel.

The staff were consistently friendly, and management seems to be doing its best to keep the hotel clean and in good shape. It's a little old, but for the price it's a good hotel. Breakfast was okay.

The staff were friendly once they finally came to help. My room was clean and comfortable, though the hotel is older and could use renovations.
