We spent eight lovely nights at this charming beachfront hotel. The sunsets were incredible, and this was our favourite place to watch them, even compared with Nacpan and Vanilla Beach. I spent many hours in the restaurant enjoying food and drinks and watching life go by. The hotel is right on the beach, about a 10-minute tricycle ride from town. Tricycles are always available at the top of the road: it was 100 pesos into town, 400 pesos from the airport, and we negotiated 1000 pesos each way to Nacpan Beach for sunset. The rooms were charming and quiet, with hot water, comfortable beds, and great housekeeping. We loved the daybeds outside the rooms for a break from the sun. The food was really nice and had a great selection. We couldn't find a straightforward scrambled eggs on toast on the menu, but they made it with a small fruit plate, which was perfect. The French press coffee was outstanding, and the wine selection was amazing for the price. The bottle of rosé we had cost twice as much at other restaurants. For a fancy dinner when not eating at the hotel, I recommend Taas restaurant next door. The downside was children who weren't hotel guests using the pool. Notices say it's for guests only, but a few times parents came to the restaurant and left their kids unattended in the pool, making lots of noise and disturbing guests who were trying to relax.

We had an incredible five days and four nights at Mahogany Beach Resort. The team were warm, attentive, and friendly, and had memorized our coffee order by the end. When unforeseen circumstances meant we arrived late at night, they accommodated us without question and made check-in easy and stress free. Because it's a small resort, the stay felt intimate and relaxing. We never had to wait for a pool lounger or a table on the beach. The food and drinks were unreal, and the daily 2-for-1 happy hour is not to be missed. The menu has a good mix of Western and Filipino options, and you have to try the eggs Benedict. The front desk can arrange tours, rides into town or to local beaches, and spa treatments. The team were informative and helped make our El Nido trip the mix of adventure and beach time we wanted. The onsite massage was the best I've ever had, very reasonably priced, and available to book at short notice. We liked being just outside town, since downtown gets busy and loud at night. I highly recommend the resort and will definitely stay again. Huge thanks to everyone for making it a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We stayed for two days and nights, and would have stayed longer if it hadn't been booked out. The service was awesome, and the staff were really friendly. The WiFi was good, water pressure strong, and the pool beautiful. Best of all was the food: we had such great meals, and the Breakfast Croissants were exceptional. The hotel manager is a Frenchman, by the way, haha. Highly recommended.

The area was so calm, and the hotel itself is lovely. We only stayed one night and wished we'd had longer. They arranged a special dinner for New Year's Eve, which made the evening such fun. The staff were really friendly, too. I'd happily recommend it if you want somewhere peaceful that's still close to el nido.

We were really looking forward to staying at the Mahogany Hotel, but unexpected typhoons and heavy rain at the end of November meant we had to cancel our trip. We cancelled three weeks ahead, yet the hotel refused to refund us despite the exceptional weather. They don't offer even a partial refund within two months of the reservation date, so I wouldn't recommend booking here.
