Daluyong Beach Resort

The garden-like grounds, full of trees and plants, made for a peaceful stay, and our pool-view room had a great bed and working hot water. The pool was refreshing, though children who didn't seem to be hotel guests were swimming there and disrupted the calm a little. Room rates also compare well with other beachfront hotels nearby. Check-in got off to a rough start. The receptionist, Niña, wasn't very accommodating, and her replies came across as unprofessional. I told the owner about the miscommunication, and she handled it promptly and kindly offered us breakfast, which I appreciated. Some small improvements would help: trim plants beside the paths, reorganize the restaurant and bar, update the beachfront chairs, and reconsider the food prices. ₱360 for chicken soup felt expensive. Plants partly hide the hotel sign, so it's easy to miss. Even with the rocky start, the owner's help and the peaceful setting made my stay very enjoyable.

The rooms were spacious and cleaned up each day, and this was good value for money. You can walk to the town centre, though I'd recommend a scooter or tuk-tuk.

We spent a very relaxing day here. It wasn't too busy, and most of the time the pool was empty. The comfortable sunbeds have mattresses, umbrellas, and tables, with a view of the ocean. There are toilets and a shower on site, and the drinks and food were great. Service water is included in the 500PHP per-person fee, which lets you use the pool area all day and order food and drinks.

Coming back to this small resort felt refreshing each time. The outdoor area is lovely, with lots of different plants and greenery, and the rooms and grounds were very clean. Our room had what we needed, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's quiet and peaceful, and would work well for a family with kids. They even offer nannies for hire, although we didn't use that service. There's billiards and a pool, plus fresh drinks and good food. We'd come back one day.
