Moonlight Homestay

The people here are lovely, the rooms are clean, and the AC gets properly cold. Breakfast is included, and you get your own bathroom. Vivian was especially kind when I bruised my foot. Moon light is close to all the beaches, too. If you're watching your spending and a room around 2.5k works for you, I'd recommend checking it out.

I stayed for two weeks, went to Cebu, then came back for another week. It's such a relaxed, easygoing place, and Vivian was really friendly and looked after her guests well. I'd happily return. Peace from the Moroccan person ✌️

The breakfast was the one bright spot, but I think you could find another hostel at a similar price with better facilities. My room at Moonlight was dirty, there were insects all over, and the restroom was tiny and smelled awful. The thin walls also meant I could hear everything, which made sleeping difficult. I've stayed in plenty of hostels and budget places in the Philippines, and this was the worst. I wouldn't recommend it or come back. I wish I'd checked the reviews first.

The room incident happened at 1 a.m., when I was asleep and the boss came in to ask why I hadn't locked the door. The next day I told her that wasn't okay, and she yelled at me to shut up in front of the other guests. She was extremely rude throughout. During our week there, she also kicked and hit her puppies every day, which was awful to see. There was a huge spider in every room to eat mosquitoes; when I asked her to remove one, she moved it to a different room. The place wasn't cheap, and I don't think it was worth the price. You can find somewhere better.
