Siargao Tropic Hostel

The staff were nice, and the dogs were very welcoming. The bathroom was clean, and the air conditioning worked well, though it was loud. But even though our room was ready when we arrived, they wouldn’t let us check in early without paying 500php. It’s budget accommodation, so set your expectations accordingly. The bedsheet had stains and didn’t feel clean, which made me itchy. The shower ran very slowly, and they didn’t provide toiletries or even tissue. You can find a cleaner, better place for the same budget.

Yasmin, the super friendly dog, was my favorite part. She always came to welcome us when we arrived. The price was okay for the location, within walking distance of the tourist street. We came with friends and stayed several days, but there was no room service, so you have to clean your own room. We paid 300 each for kitchen and laundry use for the whole stay. The only issue we had was that the CR bowl was clogged.

We only spent one night in a private room, but rented a scooter for two days. The owners were really friendly and helpful, and let us leave our bags there so we could take just a few things on a short trip north. Our cabin-style room had a nice little deck with a table and chairs, and there’s a kitchen. The cabins are tucked into the village, away from the noise, but it’s still walkable to the main street. Great value. If we’d found it sooner, we’d probably have stayed the whole time in General Luna.

The staff at Siargao Tropic Hostel were friendly, approachable, and always ready to answer questions. I stayed for a couple of days and liked having the bathroom and toilet separate. The room was spacious too. A wonderful place to stay in Siargao.
