Tropical Temple Siargao

We stayed three nights at the tropical temple and had a great first visit to siargao. The resort was cute and well maintained, with clean, nice rooms, a lovely pool and a tropical island forest feel. The friendly staff were helpful. I’d say it’s better suited to couples than families or a group of friends. There were a few things to improve. The bar and restaurant staff were very slow: one drink took nearly 30 minutes, and food took much longer, even though there were no other orders at the time. Some room items, like the table lamps, felt dated and need replacing. We were in a ground floor deluxe suite and could hear a lot of upstairs noise when people moved around, so the soundproofing could be better, especially for rooms at a higher rate.

The staff were attentive and helpful, and it was handy having a restaurant on site for when we didn’t feel like going out. The room and interiors were lovely and aesthetic. WiFi and AC worked perfectly. I do wish there were a water refill station nearer the rooms, so we wouldn’t have to go to reception to fill our containers. I’d definitely stay again when I return to the island.

I really liked the hotel’s look and its great location, but the reception experience let the stay down. The reception staff lacked basic courtesy and didn’t even offer a simple good morning. I asked for help with my heavy luggage because my room was in the garden area. No one was available then, which I understand. What bothered me was how it was said: it felt like my request was a burden, and the staff member’s tone and smirk came across as dismissive. In a customer service role, I expected a more respectful and accommodating approach. I loved the place, but the lack of basic hospitality and training makes me hesitant to return. The bar staff serving coffee were wonderful by comparison. They greeted guests warmly, were friendly and made an effort to chat, which really stood out.

I’d been meaning to try this restaurant for ages after seeing the beautiful place on my feed, and finally got to visit. It’s absolutely Instagram-worthy, a real eye candy. The server, whose name I forgot, said she was new and was incredibly warm and friendly. Great job! We weren’t very hungry, so we just tried the coffee and cocktails, along with a pizza. The coffee was okay, though I’ve had better at other cafés and restaurants. The pizza was decent, but I’ve had better on the island. I’m open to coming back and seeing whether the food and coffee have improved.
