T'Boli Hotel

The rooms are average, with air conditioning, a 24-inch flat-screen TV, and a working hot shower. I felt good about the location for safety and convenience, since the hotel is right beside YLB terminal on the national highway. It has a homey feel, and the staff are approachable if you need help. Guests can use the pool anytime, and there are free potable water dispensers in the corridors.

The conference room has good air conditioning and can hold around 300 people. There’s also a small kidney-shaped pool that’s fine for a dip, plus two major hospitals within walking distance and fast-food chains just steps away. For budget travelers, the location is handy, right on the National Highway beside the Yellow Bus Line Satellite Terminal in Gensan’s newer city center. Visitors can get there easily, though tricycles aren’t allowed on the highway except to cross it, which makes reaching the hotel by motor taxi a bit tricky.

There’s no Wi-Fi at the hotel. While I was quarantining there without a local SIM, the man helping me complained and pressed me to buy a SIM card for him to use. I felt shy about it, but didn’t really have a choice. I understand that “kapoy baktas” means “walking is tiring.”

The rooms are clean and comfortable enough, though they could use bug spray and an air freshener. The location is perfect, and the staff are really nice.
