Casa Tentay

The location made getting around easy: Rose Pharmacy, 7-Eleven, Robinsons Mall, Jaro Plaza, Jollibee, and other places are all within a kilometer and walkable, though the streets can be busy. Our two-night, three-day stay cost just ₱900 a night. The place was clean and decent, with a cozy vintage feel, especially upstairs where the interior was beautiful. The wooden floors and walls made it a lovely spot for photos. A friendly staff member saw me taking pictures outside and offered to let us take some on the second floor. We did have a water outage one evening around 6 or 7 PM, but it didn't spoil the stay. For the price and atmosphere, it was worth it, and I'd still recommend it as a budget-friendly place. The staff were accommodating too.

Reviews brought me to Casa T, where I got a 900P room. It was clean, had a hot and cold shower, and was totally adequate. I didn't check the more expensive rooms, but this felt like a bargain, with the atmosphere of an old mansion that's pretty well maintained. The owner and staff were friendly, and it's close to the city plaza. I'm a 66-year-old American, and I always run the aircon for four minutes before accepting any hotel room anywhere, so the noise and vibration have time to show up.

This is my favorite place to stay around Jaro Plaza when I'm in Ilo-ilo. It's a three-star hotel in a historic building, with really cool, accommodating staff. The rooms are very basic, so don't expect luxury, but the price is hard to beat. It's right by the plaza where all the action is.
