There were spiders all over the room, and it was clearly not being cleaned properly. The room was in very poor shape, and cleanliness and hygiene were unacceptable. The service was poor too, and the stay fell short of even basic comfort and hospitality.

I stayed Aug.17-23, and the room was never cleaned. Room 206 also had a plugged sink, and there was no room service, so bring your own towel. We had a 12-hour power outage. The residential neighbors yelled loudly enough that it felt like being in a squatter area. There was only one staff member during the day, and security seemed poor. It’s a budget hotel, but I didn’t find it worth the price and wouldn’t recommend it.

We checked in at 7pm and found a room with no water at the sink, toilet, or shower, stained bed linens, and a dirty floor. The bathroom smelled like a dead animal, and the shower heater seemed at risk of electrical failure that could hurt or kill someone. Staff didn’t respond when we asked for help. The room’s layout matched the Agoda pictures, but it was nothing like a renovated room. It looked about 50 years old and needed a complete overhaul. We contacted Agoda and showed them the mismatch. Both Agoda and hotel staff agreed to cancel our two-night booking and give a full refund, but after weeks of waiting, Agoda said the hotel had only agreed to refund one night. We’ve had trouble with Red Doorz elsewhere in the country too, so I won’t book with this chain again. I’d think carefully before choosing any of their locations.

The staff were friendly, but we had to check out earlier than planned because the toilet was blocked. The air conditioner was noisy and never got cold enough, and the water pressure was weak. There’s no elevator to the third floor, so carrying heavy luggage up is tiring.
