The strong aircon kept the room cold, and I still got a good night's sleep despite the average bed and bedding. A few things to keep in mind: it's on the second floor with stairs and no elevator, so accessibility could be an issue. The water pressure was low, making the pail take a while to fill. There was no hot shower or bidet. The door felt flimsy and had no double lock, so I would've liked more security. The room felt old and expensive at Php 1,500, though I got it for around Php 1,200+. It was decent for a quick stay, but I expected more for the price.

The location is great, and the price is affordable, but the hotel is very basic, so don't expect much. There's no bidet in the washroom, and at this day and age? The bathroom lighting is dim, too. It's above ground level with no bellboy or male staff to help with heavy luggage, so be ready to carry it up a good flight of stairs.

There wasn't any hot water, and reception didn't seem to care. They just shrugged when I raised it.

On checkout day, Dec. 26, there were still no toiletries or tissue 😂. We'd checked in Dec. 23 and checked out Dec. 26. On Dec. 23 we arrived around 11pm, but nobody was at reception. I rang the bell, and a staff member came out of one of the rooms, handed me a key, then went back into her(?) room. There were no toiletries, tissue, or bottled water. I rang again and got one roll of tissue, since no “guest kit” was available. I was told supplies would come the next morning. The bathroom had no water heater and a leaking sink. Water drained straight under the sink, so I had to ask for a bucket to catch it and keep my feet dry. On Dec. 24 there were still no toiletries, bottled water, or sink repair. When we came back from celebrating Christmas Eve with relatives at around 1:55am, we waited outside at least 20 minutes because the night duty staff had gone out to buy something and nobody was there to open the gate. A few minutes after letting us in, she went out again, saying she was buying something. Is it right to leave a property unattended when guests are checked in? On Dec. 25 there were still no toiletries, tissue, or bottled water. The cable TV kept cutting in and out. The faucet stopped working while I was bathing, so I used distilled water to rinse my hair. I was really pissed. When I asked the receptionist why the water had stopped, she said there was a supply but, once again, the water pump had a problem.

The staff were helpful with directions and local tips for getting around the city. This affordable hostel is beside the road, so jeepneys and tricycles are easy to catch. Grab is also available in the city now, and there's a work table for guests. For the price, it's worth it. My room, though, needs renovation and more cleaning. The aircon was dusty, I came across a cockroach, and the Wi-Fi signal in the room was weak.
