I still remember what happened in 2015, and I’m writing this because it was horrifying. I went to the front desk to report that the room door wouldn’t open. Staff said maintenance was on the way, but we waited more than an hour. During that time, a thief got into more rooms and escaped with valuables. Our room and many others belonging to event attendees had been ransacked. The door had been tampered with, and phones and money were taken. My roommates and I filed a police report and told the staff, who only gave us the generic response, “wala kami kasalanan,” and dodged responsibility. I’m 100% sure it was an inside job because the thief targeted only rooms of people attending the event. It still baffles me how irresponsible the hotel was about the damage done to me and the other attendees.

The pool was closed while I was there, and there was no sign it would open anytime soon. The attached casino didn’t make any difference to me, and the cable TV wasn’t working either. This may once have been a really nice place, but it doesn’t feel like one now. The building is showing its age and needs a makeover or paint. The room’s wooden floor had scars and holes, the walls had black marks and dents, and the bed wasn’t very nice. It all looked pretty rough.

The staff were friendly and nice, but I wouldn’t recommend this as a child-friendly hotel because of the restrictions placed on minors. The profile shows off a nice swimming pool, but it wasn’t accessible during our stay. For the money, it felt a bit below standard.

The courtyard is actually pretty relaxing to walk around, and the small casino is still fun if you like pressing the buttons. It’s not a bad place to stay, though it could use more work. Maybe it was just the room I had. I gave it three stars because there’s room for improvement, but I’d still recommend it to friends looking for a quiet, fun place in the Philippines that isn’t too expensive or over the top.
