Z Hostel

The hostel has a sunny, beach-like feel. Just walking around inside made me want to head out for a swim. The bunk beds are clean, but they're high, with steep stairs. Staff are accommodating. The location is very nice, with lots of pubs and bars around the corner in poblacion, behind powerplant and Rockwell makaty. It feels like a very high-end area. Many of the foreign guests seem to be working, and it also attracts work-from-home tourists.

This is my third time in the country, and I keep choosing this hostel for its perfect location and great rooftop bar. The volunteers are all amazing, especially JUJU, who's the best guide for the walking tour. I'll return for the rooftop view and JUJU.

The beds were comfy, the breakfast was amazing, and there are plenty of daily activities to join. Staff were friendly, and I liked the Poblacion location and the free cocktail at the rooftop bar. I enjoyed staying here and will choose them again. Highly recommended.

We got there around noon and, since it wasn't busy, they let us check in early. The location is close to all the food spots we like and want to try. There were free welcome drinks and breakfast, and the extension fee was the cheapest. We stayed longer so we could try more restaurants. If you're social, their Walking Tour is a good way to meet people, and there's a Rooftop Bar and Sundeck bar where you can have a drink or chat with other guests. Check-in was a hassle. They asked for every guest's ID and had each of us fill in an MS form on their tablet. I think they scanned our IDs, though I'm not sure, but they still kept one government ID and gave us a claim slip for checkout. For a group of five or more, having everyone register and hand over an ID is a lot. You have to return the hair dryer as soon as you're done in case someone else asks for it, which is inconvenient. They should have enough for guests, since not everyone can fit one in their luggage. One towel rack in the restroom was broken, and there's no drain near the toilet. You have to position the shower curtain properly inside the shower area so water doesn't collect around the toilet.
