Il Sogno Resort

It felt like home. There are only four rooms, and we were the only ones using the veranda, enjoying the peaceful view and lying there together after a swim. The people were warm and lovely, and the room was squeaky clean. For a similar price, this place was much more spacious than others we'd stayed in, and the pictures don't do it justice. We enjoyed breakfast the next morning too. I would've preferred softer pillows, though all the mattresses and pillows in this village seem to be standard foam. Massive thanks!

The location was hard to beat. You can walk to the main street's dining and spa options, yet the place is away from the noise. From the garden you can watch the sunset, and in the morning you can be first in the water. The B&B has direct snorkeling access, with a chance to see sardines and perhaps a turtle. There are five rooms. The two larger ones look toward the garden and ocean, though their windows face the shared sitting area and aren't fully private. We had the smaller yellow room for two nights, facing the street fence. It was enough for us since we only slept there. The room was simple, with powerful air conditioning, a roomy closet, plenty of bathroom shelf space, and hot water. WiFi was excellent, and I could do work video calls on Zoom. The owner's house two doors down served free made-to-order breakfast, with tasty Filipino, Korean, and continental options. There was a water cooler at the B&B and a free parking lot across the street. I wish the hotel shared more information about activities in Cebu. I wanted to know how early to arrive for Whale shark watching, but the staff weren't sure.

The sunset from the terrace is beautiful, and having a beer there made me feel so happy, almost like being in heaven. Breakfast while looking out at the sea was lovely too. Go down the terrace stairs into the water and you can see turtles and sardines every day. The main street is a five-minute walk, with plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, massage shops, and diving shops. Staff greeted me with a bright smile each morning, especially Chris and ....?~ They often cleaned the damp hallway floor to help prevent slips, and made the best breakfast dishes each day using fresh ingredients. The owner (the Italian) and the manager were very friendly. I spent one night in the green room and four nights in the blue room. I feel lucky and happy to have stayed at IL - Sogno. It's the best compliment I can give. Thank you to everyone at Ilsogno.

We were welcomed with such generous hospitality, and the owners were caring, warm, and friendly. They responded quickly when we communicated with them. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, with an amazing sea view. Breakfast was varied and very tasty. It was a very good price for the quality. This was our best stay in the Filippines, and we're sad to leave. Maybe this review will help someone else have a happy stay :)
