Johan's Beach and Dive Resort

The drinks are inexpensive, the staff are nice, and there's music to enjoy while you have a drink and feel the gentle movement of the waves. It's a relaxing little floating bar in Baloy, Philippines, about 100m out in Subic Bay. They bring you out to the barge by small boat. It's usually open around 1pm-9pm, though they'll stay later if people are spending money. One busy night it was lively until 3am. They don't rush everyone out right at closing time like many bars do.

I'm so disappointed. We had traveled a long way with 12 adults and 5 kids, and once we arrived we were stranded, so we took the day tour at the place next door even though the price was unreasonable. I didn't want the kids or anyone else to be disappointed after the trip. I'd booked a day tour with kokomos the day before and called several times to confirm and remind them about it. Then they told us they had no rooms. They didn't apologize or explain, just pointed us to the neighboring place. I suspect they may have arranged this with that resort, and plan to follow up with the Business Bureau. If this happened to you too, please let me know. It would confirm the scam.

It's right on the beach at Baloy Long Beach Olongapo, with a great location. The ocean is safe and clean for swimming, the service is fantastic, and it's excellent value. Highly recommend, and I'll be back.

The rooms are unusual, and the shared area is okay but could use some improvement. There was no bidet, and the water pressure was so bad that we had to wait for people in other rooms to finish with the shower or faucet before we could use the bathroom. Lifeguards do keep the beach reasonably clean. They also had a fire-dancing show and other entertainment.
