The whale shark watching location is great, and the bedding was really soft and comfortable. There’s a sitting area where you can watch the traffic, but I’d hoped for a rooftop ocean view and there isn’t one. The road noise was loud. At check-in I had to ask for everything, including a floor rug, soap, and an extra towel.

The price was cheap, and I liked the hard bed. My room was spacious, with AC and a hot shower, though the shower is wired to the light socket, so the light has to stay on while you use it. The owners were direct, but they were fine with me once I was friendly. The whale shark watching is between 6am and noon, so staying nearby saves leaving Cebu at 4 or 5am. Oslob gets quiet in the afternoon and evening after the tour buses leave and everything closes, so I wouldn’t stay in the area more than a night or two.

It’s cheap and close to Oslob whale shark watching, but I wouldn’t call it a nice place. The air conditioning is old and loud, the room smelled of cigarettes, and the window couldn’t be opened. It’s also by the main road, with loud lorries passing all the time. Fine for one night at most.

Being close to the whale shark watching was the only good part, and there are other hotels just as near. The room was uncomfortable: no hot water, toilet paper, or soap, the mattress was rock hard, and WIFI only worked at reception. Mark’s two dogs were tied by their necks and barked all night, every night, so I couldn’t sleep. The hotel staff were rude. Other reviews mention the same rudeness and insensitivity, which makes it seem like a longstanding issue. They need a lesson in customer service. It’s cheap for a reason, it’s awful. Avoid it unless you want an uncomfortable, sleepless night.
