Cronin Inn by Cocotel

My friends and I had a brief, traumatic stay here. The owner threatened us, used derogatory language, and acted aggressively. He was also aggressive toward his Filipino wife and the hotel staff, which made the atmosphere even more distressing. We felt unsafe, so we recorded what happened and sent it to Agoda. They reviewed the evidence and refunded our booking, though that couldn’t undo the emotional toll. Our earlier feedback seems to have been removed. This behavior is unacceptable.

We were five people in one room, and they brought us an extra mattress. The room was clean, and breakfast was served at the time we asked for. The family-owned place was friendly and clean, with both hostel and room facilities. The owners, a dad and daughter we spoke with, were super helpful and friendly. Even though we got to the hotel late at night, they arranged our whale shark diving with a pre-booking.

The room felt homey and was clean, and the property is right on the beach. It’s also in a great spot, about a five-minute walk from the highway. The staff really put effort into looking after guests. Karen took great care of us, arranged our whale shark tour, and even cooked lunch for us to bring to Sumilon island. She’s the best!

I booked a premium room because the other rooms were taken, and it was fine. The place was friendly, very clean, right on the beach, and the aircon worked, haha. I’d stay again if I’m in Oslob.
