MO2 Westown Lagoon

The staff made a strong impression, especially Rod, who went out of his way to make our stay memorable. The hotel itself felt peaceful and tropical, with lush greenery around a large, inviting pool. Our room opened straight onto the pool, which we loved, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. It’s a calm spot away from busy Coron Town, with a quick tricycle ride to the main town for 40 pesos. The $8 breakfast buffet was decent, though a little pricey for Coron. The shower could use some attention: its old showerhead should be replaced, and the bathroom floor gets wet after use, so a bathmat or better drainage would help. Keep an eye out for mosquitoes, too. A lovely, relaxing stay and good value. I’d return.

We’d booked a room two days earlier, but when we arrived they had no different room available and made us wait until one opened up. The room they gave us had two single beds that couldn’t be pushed together. We would have been fine with that if they could adjust the price, but they couldn’t. We had booked three nights, then arrived late because our flight was cancelled and were meant to spend one extra night at Lagoon. The service was poor.

The place is clean and the location is good, but the service is very slow, especially at breakfast. They don’t cook continuously, so we waited about 40-45 minutes for the restaurant to make our food. Food service is the main thing they need to improve.

By Philippine standards, this is a luxury hotel, though the food was just okay and the beers weren’t cold enough. Housekeeping should focus more on leaving hand towels for us instead of readjusting the A/C temperature every day. Be careful with the island hoping tours. Once we were dock side, there were a bunch of extra fees that hadn’t been made fully clear. It was still worth what we paid, but the lack of transparency felt misleading. Our tour guides Jerry and Randy were AMAZING!
