Liezel's B&B

The town is small enough to get around on foot, or you can take a rickshaw for 10 pesos. It was quiet apart from the usual roosters in the morning. The owners were so attentive they seemed to know what I wanted just by looking at me. Breakfast was a generous meal served when I chose. One afternoon I couldn't find any dinner in town that appealed to me, and mentioned wishing I could have noodle soup. Half an hour later, they invited me to have some.

Liziel, Morley, and their whole family made us feel like part of the family from the moment we arrived. They're the heart of this home, genuinely warm, friendly, and welcoming. We loved our spacious, comfortable room, and the breakfasts were amazing. My favorite was the tiny homemade banana cake. Liziel's B&B is a wonderful find in Palompon Leyte. Highest recommendation, and we can't wait to return!

It's a small town, so everything in Palompon is about a 15-minute walk away. There’s an ATM near the Tourism Office, a food park serving Filipino food, and Jollibee and Goldilocks are also within walking distance. The hosts were accommodating when I arrived with my bike, letting me park it right outside the front door. The place has a gate and staff keeping watch, which made it feel secure. When they found out I was traveling alone as a woman, they generously upgraded me to a larger room. The bed was very comfortable, the AC worked well, and the internet was reliable enough for me to work, though I didn't have any video calls that day. It felt like a real homestay. I enjoyed chatting with the family who own the place; they were welcoming without being intrusive, so you needn't worry if you're not very chatty. Before I left for Kalanggaman Island in the morning, they served a hearty breakfast of tocino, danggit, fried rice, eggs, bread, and a slice of fruit. I left full and happy.

The owners were so accommodating they got up at 3 a.m. to make us a full breakfast before our 5 a.m. checkout. The room was comfortable and clean, and the house is close to the port and places to eat. I'd highly recommend it, and we'll stop by again next time we're in Palompon.
