I especially like their Turones and Fried Rice, both are must tries. The food is worth the price, and the rooms and service are, too. I keep returning to Puerto Galera, and this lodge has become my regular place to stay. The rooms are nice and reasonably priced, and it’s just a 2-3 minute walk to the beach. The beach is nice and feels very safe, so it’s convenient to go whenever you want. Kudos to Lucy and the team for being so warm and welcoming. They helped us arrange activities around Puerto Galera and can also help get discounts, which is great when you’re traveling on a budget. 😉

A heads up for future guests: they charge per person, regardless of how many people actually occupy the room, and provide only two towels per room no matter how many guests there are. The towels were poor quality, worse than ones I’ve seen at the cheapest motels in Manila, so I’d strongly recommend bringing your own. The rooms felt cramped and didn’t match the photos, which I found misleading. Service was disappointing as well. Lucy seemed particularly unsuited to hospitality. Most of our interactions were about extra charges, and her apologies felt insincere when things didn’t meet expectations. The included breakfast was decent, but it was standard supermarket food and nothing special. Also, avoid room M1, it smells like a septic pit.

We always stay here when we visit Puerto Galera. The rooms are comfortable for the low price, and the restaurant’s food is delicious and affordable. The beach is very close, just a few minutes’ walk away.

We were hoping Manalo's Lodge and Restaurant would show more flexibility given the official weather warnings for the area. They initially let us reschedule because of the bad weather, but set a deadline at the end of June. Our research showed that a severe flood advisory remained in effect throughout June and that the area was still affected afterward. We had already contacted them, and we weren't asking for a refund. Even so, they wouldn't extend or adjust the rescheduling. Guests' safety, and the safety of everyone involved, should come first.

We stayed for two days and one night, and it worked well for us. It's an affordable spot for a couple who mainly wants a place to sleep before enjoying the beaches and nature outside. Breakfast is free, and there's air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. We rode our motorcycle there and were able to park it at the property.
