It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t very good either. The bathroom fixtures were rusty and unclean. If you’re a foreigner used to nicer places, you might wish you’d stayed somewhere else, especially if Motel 6 isn’t your kind of place. There are other spots nearby where you’d probably feel more at home. We were just passing through.
The bed was comfortable enough for a rest and the Wi-Fi was decent, but parking is limited. The toilet and bath were small, with mold on the ceiling. I think the ventilation may be inadequate, which could be dangerous to health if mold is ingested.
I’ve just returned from a week in the sprial suites, and it was a pleasure. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the price very reasonable, the staff friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant food was great. I’ll definitely come back. What more could you want?
We booked five days at first and said we might stay longer if we could change rooms. They’d put us opposite the school entrance, and it was the noisiest place I’ve ever stayed. The windows wouldn’t shut, so you might as well sleep outside. The owner just laughed. On checkout day she asked if we wanted to extend. Sorry, nah. We arrived at 3am on check-in day. They gave us the key and let us into the room without mentioning any extra charge. It felt like a trick to get us settled, then an hour later they called the room and asked for another 800 peso. The rooms are very clean, and the staff are helpful. I keep coming back to spiral suites because I like it there. It’s a nice place and really affordable.
