The Sentinel Residences Suite

I don’t understand all the good reviews. Maybe some rooms are better, but 30F was disgusting. There wasn’t any toilet paper or soap, the bed had bed bugs, and cockroaches were all over the place, especially in the fridge and bathroom. I told the owner, and two days later he dropped off some bug spray. Seriously bad place. Avoid it. There are much better options in this city and neighbourhood for the same price.

We picked this place because it was advertised as having full amenities, including kitchens. In the first room, trying to use the stove tripped a breaker. They had to get the engineers to turn the room back on, but we still couldn’t cook. The bathroom sink was clogged and broken, and the pipes leaked when it was filled. We moved to a second room hoping to cook there. That one was fine for cooking, but it had roaches, and during the storm the broken window flew open, so we tied it shut. Both rooms badly needed a proper cleaning. Very disappointed.

Live cockroaches were crawling on my bed. The rooms were horrible, the furniture was incomplete, and there was no electric kettle, microwave, or mats. The service was just as bad. Staff weren’t welcoming or helpful, and were very disrespectful, especially the guard and receptionist. They even asked personal questions like, “What company are you?” We booked online through our company, and that question felt too personal.

The stay was good, but I don’t get why Wi-Fi costs 100 pesos. I also couldn’t use the hair dryer because its plug didn’t match the outlet. It almost felt like they did that on purpose.
