We went Wednesday through Saturday and were basically the only guests. The servers were all very nice. Food can take a while, but it wasn't a big deal for us. Order about 30 minutes ahead, and give them around an hour for pizza. Boat rides also need plenty of notice, about five hours. One staff member's husband owns the boats. Mo was there when my family visited and said he wanted the place to feel family-oriented. He even asked another group to arrive a day later so we could have another quiet night, which was very considerate. He also put us in a bungalow next to the cabana so my 90-year-old grandmother wouldn't have to walk far. 10/10 for that. My nephews had a great time on the beach. The rooms were simple and nice, with no TVs. Mo said there used to be TVs, but he took them out, which I loved. They were updating the bungalows while we were there, so I expect they'll only get better. The rooms looked just like the online pictures. One thing to know: booking.com lists some rooms for eight, but that means four beds with two people sharing each. Some rooms may be big enough, but most beds are twin-sized, so that arrangement works for kids, not adults. Also, the drive can be hard to find on Google Maps. As of 2026, the turnoff is on a small, easy-to-miss road that looks like a row of shops at the end of a dead-end street. For Americans, you can ask staff to reheat food, or make special requests that might not be possible back home. If there aren't many guests, you can ask them to hold leftovers and heat them later. Local fishermen sometimes bring in fish on that beach, which you can buy and ask the staff to cook. Puffer fish occasionally wash ashore at low tide, and fishermen may bring them in with their catch.

We stayed overnight in Bamboo Room 4, which had plenty of space for our group of five. We arrived before the usual check-in time and were pleasantly surprised to get into the room early at no extra charge. The beach was great for swimming, with soft fine sand and no worries about jellyfish or stepping on stones. It was also handy to have the restaurant just a short walk from our room, so we ordered lunch as soon as we arrived. A relaxing, enjoyable stay.

The beach was lovely, with white sand, no rocks in the water, and a clean feel. It's also the only spot where we could get a signal or use data, since the rooms have no Wi-Fi or mobile reception. The resort had faucets at nearly every corner, including outside the rooms, so you could rinse your feet before going in. The photos matched what we found, and I'd rate the resort 8/10. Our room had a porch that was handy for hanging wet swimwear, and the mini fridge was convenient. The beds had sand on them, and I'm 90% sure it was already there. Otherwise, it was mostly clean. We could bring snacks, water, and our small dog into the room, as long as we brought a diaper, cage, and bed. The food was mostly good, though some dishes were hit or miss. A few portions were big, even though staff said they were for one person, lol. My friend ordered vegetable curry but got chopsuey instead. I'd give the food 7/10. Best to order about an hour ahead because it takes time. The Facebook page was very helpful, though replies were sometimes a bit late, possibly because reception is poor around the rooms. The boat owners were accommodating, but we thought we'd visit several islands and only went to one. Island hopping cost 50 per person to see the shipwreck, then another 50 per person for Miracle Island. The three-hour trip for eight people cost 2,500, which seems fair. Bring cash. There's also a parking fee of 100 per car, which hadn't been made clear to us. It was slightly difficult to find the resort. We missed the slight left turn and had to make a U-turn. I'd rate the resort 7/10 overall. Not bad, but there's room to improve. Thanks for the stay.

This is my new favorite place to stay on Sugar Beach. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and roomy. We had one with a balcony, which was nice to hang out on. Beach access and chairs are available, and the grounds and restaurant have a fantastic atmosphere. The New Year's Eve bonfire on the beach was fun too. Just bring Off to keep the mosquitoes away. The people were the nicest, and they helped sort out a booking error. Breakfast was a good omelette, and dinner was a very good, reasonably priced burger and fries. The food and atmosphere make this a great place all around.

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and decent for very affordable rates, and the friendly staff were quick to help with what we needed. It's a pet-friendly resort too. A couple of dogs tried to get at our food when we'd left it unattended in the reception and kitchen area. There's no reception signal across most of the resort, apart from the beachfront, but they do have piso Wi-Fi.
