The rooftop was one of the main reasons I booked Hotel Apollo, but it was closed with no explanation beyond “because it was.” I wasn’t told about that beforehand. The room itself was comfortable and the location was fine, but I left feeling awful. A gold necklace with a lot of sentimental value, which I’d kept in my wallet, went missing during my stay at the end of May. I’d asked for the room not to be cleaned, and after searching thoroughly several times, I’m sure I hadn’t taken it out myself. I contacted the hotel repeatedly and called to follow up, but got no useful response. The necklace still hasn’t been returned, and I’m very disappointed by the lack of effort or transparency.

We had a sea view from our spacious second-floor room, and watched the sunset from the balcony every night. Breakfast was really good, with lots to choose from. The hotel is amazing, very close to the beach and all the local amenities.

The room was nice, breakfast was good, and the hotel is right by the beach. Check-in and check-out were a bit difficult at first because the receptionist didn’t speak English or German. The manager was very friendly and spoke English, though, and came to help us. That language barrier is why I’m giving it four stars instead of five. I’ve stayed at hotels all over the world, and this is the first where the receptionist couldn’t speak English.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms are tastefully decorated. The atmosphere is good too. Best of all, the jagodzianki, fresh rolls stuffed with blueberries, are to die for. The location is perfect, with sand and sea right outside the hotel door.

The place seems to be quite literally falling apart.
