Dziki Potok

The massage at the hotel spa was the highlight of our stay. The saunas were nice too, though we skipped the small pool because the jacuzzi looked unpleasant and didn’t work properly. The room had a nice mountain view, was fairly quiet, and the location was good. But for a premium room costing almost 3 k PLN for three nights, I expected a much higher standard. There were no coffee or snacks, not even peanuts, and the balcony had only cheap plastic chairs, no loungers. The fridge barely worked, and stopped when the room card was removed from its slot. Cleaning on arrival was poor. There was a pee drop on the toilet seat, the bathtub had yellow soap and dirt marks that we scrubbed off with a towel, the curtains were stained, and there was some undefined dirt on the walls. When we reported it, reception said there was no one available to clean the tub that day, so we couldn't use it for one day. They cancelled the parking fee as compensation, which seemed ridiculous since guest parking should be free anyway. On the second day, the bottled water had been replaced with reused glass bottles filled with tap water. I'd never seen that at a hotel before. Breakfast was okay but mediocre, with similar choices that changed a little each day. We couldn't take breakfast to our room. We had dinner at the restaurant once, and that was mediocre too, with a burnt burger. There are much better restaurants in Karpacz for the same or less money. The receptionists were rather businesslike and not very kind, without even a “thank you for staying” or asking if we enjoyed it. The hotel seems to charge for a higher standard, but felt like a mediocre family inn. The price was too high for what it offered. If the room had cost 1k PLN less, that would have been appropriate. I won’t be back. And after reading the hotel's responses to bad reviews, I can't understand the positive ones. The owners should lower the prices, because they’re far too high for this standard, instead of just apologising.
