Apartment Maximum, which is affiliated with Light Rooms, had a great location near the old town, with lots of cafes and restaurants close by. The air conditioning was a real plus during the heat wave, and the fixtures were reasonably modern. The bed was comfortable and the Wi-Fi excellent. But the cleaning was awful. There was hair, nail clippings, food bits, and even broken glass on the floor, and the dishes and cutlery were dirty. We shouldn’t have to vacuum after checking into a relatively expensive rental. When we reported it, they offered to send a cleaner after we’d already cleaned ourselves. Not impressed.

We couldn’t fault the apartment. Light rooms apartments is a nine-minute walk from the main square in Krakow, with a 24-hour shop just two doors away for snacks and a cafe next to that. It was really clean and stocked with lots of useful self-catering extras, including plates, pots, cleaning products, towels, and kitchen appliances. The receptionist was also very helpful with tips on the best places to go.

The room was clean, and the location is great for the old Town. But it was described as Deluxe and looked nothing like the booking photos. There were no cups when we arrived, the bathroom sink tap wasn’t properly fixed and moved all over the place, and the furniture was cheap and uncomfortable.

The apartment was spacious, modern, and decorated really nicely, but I was disappointed that the underfloor heating and regular radiators didn’t work when I stayed at the beginning of September. We only had an electric radiator for the two-room apartment, bathroom included. I also noticed the floor hadn’t been swept properly, since I’m used to walking around barefoot. I guess some people feel the cold more than others.
