Jantaris - City Apartments

We were comfortable here and would happily return. This was our second visit: last time we had a terrace apartment set a little below the dune and water, while this time we stayed on the second floor with a fantastic sea view. The apartment was clean and comfortable, with beach chairs and a windbreak, and the freezer worked well. There was a generous starter supply of kitchen and bathroom items, though for a longer stay you may want to bring your own. Getting in with the payment code and key safe was simple and clear.

Booking.com handled the reservation, but they wanted the money transferred two months before the stay. A month before, they took 50%, then the rest was due before check-in or I couldn't get in. What a load of rubbish.

I’m sharing this so other guests have a fuller picture. After checkout, I got an email demanding 180 PLN for a gate remote they said was missing. I’m sure I left it on the kitchen table, and told them that by phone and email. I’d driven through the gate, returned to the apartment, and put the remote back where it belonged, just as I’d left the apartment key in the box by the door. Somehow, the key was there 😂. I saw other reviews mentioning similar situations, such as charges for missing towels or damaged windows, so I suspect something like that happened to me too. It’s a really unpleasant situation, especially since I had no reason to keep the remote. Why would I steal or take it?.

The building, grounds, and garage are all 5-star. I can’t comment on the fitness area or playroom because I didn’t see them. This review is mainly about apartment B41, managed by Renters.pl, and sadly I can’t recommend it. The terrace view is fantastic, and the patio furniture is a plus. The kitchen is very well equipped and everything works, and the bedroom bed is small but comfortable. But the apartment needs serious attention. It was practically uncleaned when I checked in, with hair on the floor, dirty counters and kitchen table, and dust along the baseboards. The vacuum cleaner might help, except it’s filthy and smells bad. The living room sofa is dirty, and opening the dishwasher is best avoided because it stinks. The windows are also incredibly dirty. Furniture and appliances are very worn. Worst of all, there’s mold in the bathroom and in the bedroom closet, which is against a partition wall shared with the bathroom. Paint is peeling in the bathroom, and the rental has a damp, musty smell despite the considerable price. In my opinion, that’s unacceptable and could put guests at risk of illness. Renters.pl should pay closer attention to the quality and standard of Jantaris B41.
