I booked through Booking.com more than a month ahead, after messaging the owner several times and calling to arrange our arrival. He asked me to contact him on the day so he could tell me where the keys would be, since he wouldn’t be there. I did, but couldn’t reach him all morning. I kept getting voicemail. I wanted to cancel, but that would have cost 500 PLN, the price of the stay. After trying repeatedly, I called Booking.com, and they said they’d try to contact the owner. An hour later, I was told for some unknown reason he wouldn’t take us and that we needed to find somewhere else. It’s a shame he didn’t let us know in advance, or at all, that he couldn’t host us, and then wouldn’t answer the phone. Fortunately, Booking.com helped us find another property at the last minute, even though it was already rather late and everything was chaotic. I’m terribly disappointed. Next time, unfortunately, I’ll rely on other people’s reviews.

Getting the keys was a struggle because the owner didn’t answer for over an hour. When we finally found the person meant to hand them over, she was completely drunk, and we were given the wrong room. Early the next morning, one of the owner’s employees told us to hurry out because we were in the wrong room and the guests who had booked it were already waiting. The rooms were awful to sleep in, the furniture was stained, and the windows kept falling off their hinges. You have to watch your step on the stairs because they’re collapsing. Calling this a villa is a stretch, it ought to be demolished. I don’t recommend it 👎

We couldn’t stay more than one night and had to find another apartment early the next morning. It wasn’t worth a penny. The place smelled awful, looked nothing like the Booking photos, and parts of it, including the kitchen and shower, felt frightening to enter, as if they might collapse. The floor was in terrible shape and covered with carpets to hide what was underneath. A window beside the bed was broken, and we were afraid it would fall onto us, so we didn’t dare open it. I paid cash but got no confirmation. The owner had directed me by phone to pay a woman from the bakery. Shameful.

The room was a total disaster, and the house felt like a haunted place. On the phone, the owner immediately said payment for all three days was required because so many people were interested. By morning we had packed everything up. The whole situation was a mess, and I wouldn’t recommend sleeping in the car.
