AC Hotel by Marriott San Juan Condado

I loved my stay and would come back. The hotel is gorgeous, really clean, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. It’s close to the beach and to everything along the street. There’s a burger king nearby if you need a very affordable breakfast. San Juan, I love you. Until next time. ❤️🇵🇷

The location worked really well, close to the airport and just a quick Uber ride from Old Town, and the rooms were great. But beware of the daily $45 “Destination Fee.” Service felt inconsistent. The housekeeping staff were very nice and accommodating, though they left the sink, floor and area around the coffee pot uncleaned. The breakfast buffet man was incredibly rude every day, and Francisco at the pool brushed off my report about the speaker cutting in and out by saying, “just deal with it.” The front desk staff were nice, and Katherine (sp?) at the bar was exceptional. I expected more from Marriott.

Moving to the AC turned out to be my best decision. I was much more comfortable there, the AC worked, the room was clean and up to date, and it cost less than my previous hotel. My rate also came with $25 to spend on food and drinks. The staff kept my luggage while they prepared the room, locked it away and gave me a bag tag so I could collect it later. They also have a beach section where you can get towels and chairs for free. I’d first booked another hotel on the same street but in a different area. It felt dated, the AC didn’t work, and I couldn’t get a trash can even after asking. A colleague recommended the AC, so I went to look. The lobby smelled nice, the staff looked professional in matching outfits, and the guest room was clean and modern. The rooftop bar and pool looked good too, and that sold me. It’s a really nice, more budget-friendly choice near the beach, and the staff were great.

There were plenty of nearby places to eat, which was a relief since I’m vegetarian and wasn’t sure I’d find options. The hotel is in a great spot, an easy walk to the beach, and the crew were wonderful. The daily credit toward room charges can cover drinks at the rooftop bar, and the rooftop pool is great. Sofia, the bartender, kindly helped us make sense of a menu that was partly in Spanish. I’d recommend staying here with family or as a couple.
