Palacio Provincial San Juan, Curio Collection by Hilton

The rooftop was the highlight for us: a pool with great views, a jacuzzi, lounge chairs, and a bar where we had food and drinks. It was never crowded, with only a couple of people there at most. Breakfast was also fabulous, with good food and service in the dining room just outside our first-floor room. The room itself was cool, with high ceilings and plenty of space for two. Hotel Palacio Provencial sits beside Plaza de Armas, which made it a great base for exploring Old San Juan on foot. The reception staff were efficient and helpful with restaurant suggestions. We were too busy going around the city to try the complimentary afternoon drinks. We'd happily return to Palacio Provencial.

After we came back from a day at their sister property's beach near the airport, our bags had been moved into a big, beautiful second-floor room. The staff went out of their way to make the rest of the visit lovely, and the pool and hot tub were great. The complimentary rosé in the courtyard was a nice touch. It took some effort to get there: at 11:50 pm, water started pouring through the ceiling from the room above us. Our first-floor room had been spacious but a little dark, which hadn't bothered us since we were in San Juan to see the city. The staff moved us to the hotel's smallest room and said they'd find us another one by afternoon. They did, and turned a rough start into a fantastic stay.

We had a reservation issue, but Henry Neumann, the General Manager, stepped in personally and resolved it fairly. It was clear he cared about the guest experience. The rooftop bar and infinity pool were a favorite, with amazing views and a relaxing place to unwind after walking around Old San Juan. Breakfast was fresh and made to order from a good range of menu options, a welcome change from a typical continental spread. Our room was very quiet, and the exceptionally high ceilings made it feel huge and distinctive. The property is beautiful and well placed for exploring the city. We had a fantastic stay and would absolutely come back.

Rachel and the front desk team went above and beyond to get us a takeaway breakfast at 6 am. Service was lovely everywhere, from cheerful chats in the elevator to meals delivered with a smile. The rooftop pool and bar were delightful, and they had free champagne every day. We stayed three nights and would return.
