Pedro was a really friendly, helpful host, and the apartment was spacious and comfortable. From the terrace, we could watch moonlight on the water, planes turning over the ocean, and cruise ships in the dark. Such a peaceful place. Parking isn't right outside the house, but it's only a short walk. The bus stop is close too. Bus number 2 runs hourly straight to the center of Funchal along a very scenic route.

For the price, we really can't complain. The view from the apartment is superb, and there's underground parking. We could always find a space outside as well, which was a nice bonus. We were a young couple and had a lovely stay at Pedro's. The place was very clean and spacious for two, with everything we needed, including dishes, toilet paper, towels, and cleaning supplies. The bedding could be better. We did have trouble with the hot water, but Pedro fixed it the same day. He's very helpful and gave us great advice.

The underground parking is a real plus, and the view takes in the ocean, vineyard, pigsty, and chicken coop. But sleeping with the balcony open wasn't possible for us, with a neighbor smoking downstairs and a rooster crowing all night. There were ants everywhere, too. I'd bring your own towels, and if you plan to cook, know that the cookware is aluminum or has a more modern coating that's peeling. We ended up buying a pot, frying pan, and Turkish coffee pot. The stove and water heater run on gas, but if you're used to that kind of equipment, you shouldn't have trouble. The nearest swimming area is about 2 km away. We walked there once but didn't enjoy it, so drove after that.

There's not much to see in this small village, and you'll need a car to get there. It does have a wonderful pizzeria with delicious pizza. It opens from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM and again from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Pizzas cost 10 to 16 euros, and it's worth giving it a try.
