The apartment itself is fine, but the stay was extremely stressful, especially for just two days. Before arriving, we specifically asked about parking and someone called Caio told us it was “easy to park in the public streets in Évora.” That wasn’t true. Parking outside the property is paid and limited to four hours, so it’s impractical. The nearest actual long-term parking is a 10-minute drive away. The bad information wasted time and caused a lot of stress we didn’t have room for. We also never received check-in instructions. We called the provided number twice using a foreign phone. We were told a check-in link would be sent, but it never came, and we were left stranded trying to work it out ourselves at the start of a short trip. The apartment may be nice, but the inaccurate information and poor communication made for an unnecessarily stressful experience. Guests deserve honest parking information and a reliable check-in process. We had neither.
Nice place, but checking in is a painful process, and they ask for far too much personal information, including photos of your passport or ID, without explaining how it’ll be used or stored. I’d love to stay again, but that’s a deal breaker.
The location is good and the facilities are okay, but don’t expect support from the hosts. We stayed two nights, and partying guests seemed to be a recurring issue. If you want peace and quiet at night, stay away. The property is in Portugal and managed remotely by a company in Germany. I have no idea who has access to private data or how it’s handled. Check-in is far too complicated, even for me, though I’m used to self-check-in places with no reception. They ask guests to send a digital copy of their ID, but there’s no guarantee it will be stored and managed properly. I requested deletion of my data, which is my right, and received only a message saying the request had been passed to another company. I don’t know where that company is based, or whether it might be outside Europe where data privacy rules don’t apply. I never got confirmation that my data was deleted. The house rules say no noise after 10 pm, but another apartment was noisy and the owners or managers did nothing because they “didn’t want to disturb other guests.” I know party noise can happen anywhere, but I can’t accept the hosts’ lack of response or help. I reported the noise and then spent 20 minutes chatting with an AI bot that suggested ridiculous things like calling an emergency number. After I kept rejecting its suggestions, a person in Germany contacted me. They didn’t want to message the other guests and remind them of the rules because they didn’t want to disturb them. So I was supposed to knock on everyone’s door to find out which apartment was partying, call the police, and then tell the Limehouse hosts the problem was resolved. I was clearly paying to do their work for them. The “hosts” are useless, unhelpful, and unprofessional.
Location was the cherry on top, perfect for a family stay. The apartment was lovely and cozy, and my kids loved it. The rooms had super clean bedding and comfortable mattresses. I appreciated the furnishings, and everything worked!
The bedrooms smelled very strongly of mold. The location was great, though.
