Made Inn Faro Hotel

For a two star hotel, we expected less and were pleasantly surprised. The room was spotless and roomy, the bathroom was very good, and it was comfortable. The bathroom window wouldn’t shut, though, which left the room feeling cold and the bathroom a little damp. Breakfast was pleasant, but the coffee could be better, and the orange juice was from a carton and chilled in a machine.

The employees deserve five stars, and breakfast was good. I met a Ukrainian woman working in the breakfast area called Lassie, though I’m not sure I have her name right. She was so nice. If you see this review, please message me. I was in Faro in February. The hotel is near the train station and city center, and it’s modern and clean, though a little overpriced for what it offers. There are no facilities apart from the breakfast area. My main issue was the tiny toilet area, with nowhere to put toiletries, and no luggage storage or desk in the room. The bed was small too. I’m 1.82 cm, and my feet were always sticking out when I slept. Still, it was a good experience.

The bus station is just five minutes away, and the old town is close too. Check-in and checkout were both quick compared with other hotels. The room was small, with a double bed and a little balcony. It cost 105£ for two nights after Christmas. The airport is a few minutes away, and a taxi to the hotel costs 15€. I’d expected a coffee station and slippers, since it was very cold. Nothing is perfect, but I can’t complain.

We arrived too early for our room, and the hotel looked after our luggage. The place was clean throughout, and our room was cleaned every day, which was welcome after a day out. Breakfast had so many choices that it was something to look forward to. The staff were very friendly and all spoke good English. I’d highly recommend it.
