Hostel The White Butterfly

We won't recommend this place. The private room was filthy, with bedbugs in the bed. My boyfriend woke up during the night after they bit him. We asked for our money back, but they refused and said it was our problem. The guy told us they had already known about the bedbug problem for a few days, yet they still rented us the room. I've never seen such a bad, dirty hostel.

The stay was much quieter than we expected after reading the negative reviews. We barely heard anything at night, though earplugs are probably a good idea in any hostel 😅 We paid less for a private room than we would have for two beds elsewhere. It was clean, as was the bathroom, and the bed was comfy. Towels were provided, the shower had hot water and good pressure, and the WiFi worked throughout the place. Reception being open 24/7 made our late arrival and early departure easy, and they lent us a hair dryer when we asked. We stayed two nights with a friend and had a great time. Maybe things have changed since those reviews. For the price, five stars from us. I hope this helps others feel comfortable booking.

The staff were thoughtful and really considerate. Our three bedroom room was clean, fresh and quiet, a decent budget choice. The old building felt cozy in a nice way. There was some clutter that could go, like the unused old TV, which didn't add anything.

The private room was clean, the water temperature was just right, and we had bathroom towels. Reception stayed open around the clock, too. At first glance the building seemed old and maybe not ideal, but the host's kindness completely changed our impression. He switched our rooms at the last minute, gave us a city map and lots of advice, and was so welcoming. That kind of warmth can't be taught or replaced, and it really adds to a traveller's experience.
