Huga Home

We’d already paid in full on our first day, but on the second day the host made us leave our booked room and gave it to people who hadn’t even settled in yet. She split our family between another house, so we ended up 4km apart, instead of simply sending the couple there. She said she couldn’t explain the situation to them because she didn’t understand them and couldn’t speak English. There was no compensation. Very sad, I’d never recommend this place.

A good value stopover if you’re visiting the sanctuary. We stayed one night at the end of May as a family of four. One room had a private bathroom and cost €59; the children’s room with a shared bathroom was €49. There’s a fully equipped kitchen with a Nespresso machine, handy for breakfast, plus a small balcony or terrace. The only drawback was the narrow shower.

We were on the N2 route and stayed one night, which worked perfectly for us. The avenue is right next door, so it’s very central, and our hosts were friendly and attentive. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen had the basics for making something and was clean. Both the room and bathroom were clean, but quite small, so a longer stay with lots of luggage could feel cramped. It was absolutely quiet while we were there, though that depends on the other guests and we got lucky. I recommend it.

A central spot that works well for pilgrims, with a supermarket nearby. The room was great and the beds comfortable, and there was a hot shower and a fully equipped shared kitchen. Check-in was easy, with a code sent by phone.
