I had a wonderful week in Lisbon, and the staff were friendly, helpful and full of useful local tips. The neighborhood felt clean and safe, with plenty of transit nearby and the trolley stop almost right outside. With a Navegante card, getting around was easy without needing Ubers or taxis. The hotel is beautifully decorated, very clean, and has a really good breakfast with lots of choice. You can’t eat in your room, but there are several shared areas where you can sit with food you’ve ordered in if you’re too tired to go out. They were very accommodating. Thanks for hosting me!

DL GALLERY HOUSE feels wonderfully different from the usual. Every space has quirky decor, and the lobby has a fireplace, there’s an inspiring library, and a relaxed terrace. The hotel sits in the São Bento Creative District, surrounded by a lively arts and culture scene. The breakfast was extensive and delicious, with fresh, beautifully presented yoghurt, fruit and toppings. Before I arrived, they asked whether I wanted a twin or double bed, and got it right. After a long travel day, I was welcomed into the lounge and offered wine, tea or cappuccino. I chose the cappuccino. The value impressed me too: in February 2026, the room and breakfast were €128 a night, and booking three nights brought a discount. I paid €263 EURO in total.

Breakfast was included and had plenty for different tastes. It was fresh, with many homemade items. I especially liked the coffee, the never-overcooked scrambled eggs and the ripe fruit. My room and bathroom were very large and clean, and the mattress and pillows suited me because they weren’t too soft. The old building has a lot of charm. I liked how the cozy, sometimes modern interior respected its original structure. The staff, from reception to the kitchen, were friendly and very supportive. The hotel is in Bairro Alto, with many sights walkable and tram 28E stopping nearby. Lapa is close too, with mansions, Parliament just a two-minute walk away, the Basicila Estrela and the Estrela garden and park. There’s a supermarket next door, plus boutiques, wine and cocktail bars and at least one great bakery. Like many hotels these days, it may have its best rates on its own website, so compare with the usual suspects like booking.

The staff were kind, polite and helpful throughout, and made me feel comfortable and welcome. The property is charming, carefully looked after and spotlessly clean. Breakfast had a great range of high-quality choices. I had a very pleasant stay, would gladly return and recommend it.

They started things off by bringing us coffee while we sat down to do the paperwork. I’d asked by email about checking in early, since my boyfriend and I hadn’t seen each other for four months. They couldn’t offer an early check-in, but upgraded our room for free. The room had a balcony over pastel-colored streets, and the interior felt modern but elegant. Breakfast was different each morning, with a beautiful spread of breads, cheeses, meats, fruit, yoghurt and mains. They’d also make a specialty coffee and bring it to the table. Staff remembered guests’ names and stories and were consistently polite. On our last night, they left a thoughtful note and chocolates on the bed. For a little over $100 a night, the service and hospitality were among the best I’ve experienced. It was such a lovely stay, and I’d choose this place again if I return to Lisbon.
