For a few days in Lisbon, this room worked well. It’s compact but comfortable, and the building is in a walkable area, a little outside the center without being far away. The bathroom is tiny, and sound carries through the thin walls. Fine for a short visit, though I’d want more space for a longer stay.

I had room 7. The place itself was fine, but it was really dirty. A quick 20 minutes of cleaning could sort it out, yet for some mysterious reason the owner seems to prefer bad reviews. Maybe that’s the business plan. There are other places in Lisbon at this price with better conditions.

We left a day early and moved to another hotel. The room was tiny, the attached bathroom was just as small and didn’t work, and there was hardly room to move. The doors and people inside were very loud. I wouldn’t stay again.

The room and bathroom were so cramped there was barely room for luggage or to move around, and I wouldn’t stay more than two nights. The walls are paper thin too, I could hear toilets flushing. The listing calls it a small double for two adults, but even one person wouldn’t be comfortable. On the plus side, the guesthouse is clean and tidy, with a well equipped kitchen, air conditioning, TV, fresh bedding and comfy pillows. Two metro stations are under a 10 minute walk away, and pharmacies, supermarkets, restaurants and ATMs nearby stay open 24 hours. The door codes made check-in and checkout easy.

We ended up changing hotels after wasting half a day trying to sort things out, and I’ve rarely had such a bad hotel experience. We had no confidence in the place’s cleanliness or service by then. The room they moved us to was unbelievably tiny, with barely enough room to open a suitcase or walk. It felt like they’d squeezed a bed, shower, toilet and sink into a storage closet. We arrived around 12:40 a.m. after a late flight and a long delay at passport control. Check-in was available until 1 a.m., but the self check-in instructions were unclear, which was stressful in a new country in the middle of the night. We messaged on WhatsApp to confirm the room number and got a quick reply. The room we entered was disgusting. The bed had clearly been used, the linens hadn’t been changed, trash was overflowing and dirty dishes were left out. We contacted the hotel again, but got stuck in a chatbot loop repeating that the issue had been reported. No person replied, and nothing was done. We had nowhere else open nearby, so after an exhausting day we had to sleep in that dirty bed with who knows what on the sheets. It felt unsanitary and disgusting. We contacted Expedia for help. They called the hotel, explained what had happened, and were hung up on. When Expedia called again, the hotel wouldn’t answer. The property refused to help, saying it was too late and they’d only assist in the morning, even though we’d contacted them before the check-in cutoff. It was about 2:30 a.m. by then. The next morning, the hotel said there had been a misunderstanding and that we were in the wrong room. But they had confirmed that room number the night before when we asked. They moved us to what they said was the right room, which was far too small. From the poor communication and dirty conditions to hanging up on Expedia and refusing to help, the whole thing was unacceptable. We moved to another hotel to feel safe and comfortable. Don’t book here, whatever the location, price or photos suggest.
