Dalma Baixa

The people who welcomed us were wonderful. Alexandra, Maria, Ricardo and Aline were polite and helpful, and breakfast was really good. We could watch the trolleys pass along the street while eating. The bedroom was comfortable and spacious, and everything was clean and tidy. Dalma Baixa was a great choice for our trip to Lisboa, with everything nearby and easy access to the subway, trolleys and buses. We couldn't be happier and can't wait to return!

We walked from Terreiro do Paco metro station in about five minutes after taking the metro from the airport. The hotel had emailed offering a reasonably priced airport transfer. From the hotel, it was under ten minutes on foot to the cruise terminal, though the cobblestones could be awkward with large luggage. We stayed here the night before our cruise and loved the location and charming boutique feel. The room was newly remodeled, with a very comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, and Maria was friendly and helpful at check-in and check-out. I highly recommend it and wish we'd stayed another night or two.

Alane at the front desk went out of her way to make us comfortable, and that made a real difference. We were much happier in this hotel for the second half of our trip, especially because we finally slept in a warm room. The rooms are on the small side, but two of us had enough space, and the location is right in the middle of everything. We'd spent the first half in a five-star Airbnb and found it miserable, through no fault of the host. A lot of Alfama's buildings are old, heating is minimal, and adjusting can be hard if you're used to U.S. heating systems. It's also common not to be able to run more than one appliance at a time. If you're visiting Lisbon in winter and want to stay in Alfama, book this hotel. Thank you, Alane.

The staff were amazing, and having a little bar and restaurant in the lobby was really handy. This beautifully renovated place is right in Baixa, on the tram line. Highly recommend!
