The breakfast was included in our tour and was very good, and the front desk service was satisfactory, though that's about it. The gym had nice equipment but it was small, with too much packed into the space. The hotel is centrally located in one sense, but quite a walk from the city centre, with a few big hills to climb. If your room faces the street, expect noise late at night, especially on Friday and Saturday. There was also a trash pickup at 2 a.m. The rooms look a bit dated, and our bathroom needed major work around the shower and glass doors. Only two or three TV channels were in English: BBC, Sky News, and CNN Europe. Try the coffee shop across the street from the front door, it's very good. This isn't a five-star hotel. Maybe a three overall.

The bathroom flooded after I showered, and street noise came through clearly. I wasn't expecting a five-star luxury experience for the price, but the room's condition and the service were still a big disappointment. I had to contact reception several times to get housekeeping to come. When I tried to explain things, the staff member kept interrupting and wouldn't let me finish. The location was okay, though nearby restaurants tend to be pricey. You can walk to the city center.

They made my birthday feel extra special, and I’d happily return the next time I’m in Lisbon. My room looked out over the castle and the city, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The rooms were spotless, with thoughtful little touches throughout. Staff were attentive and the service was spectacular. The location is hard to beat. Muito obrigado!

The breakfast was the standout: a fresh, varied, delicious buffet, with service that felt up to five-star standards. The rest of our week-long stay had more snags than we expected from a five-star hotel. The air conditioning was loud even on its lowest setting, and there was no bellhop during peak tourist season. Without peepholes, it was hard to identify anyone at the door, which raised a small safety concern. We asked for housekeeping three times. Twice, staff knocked without saying who they were, and once someone tried the door without knocking. Luckily it was locked. Hot water was mostly unavailable in the bathroom from the third day, in the afternoons and evenings. By the fifth morning it still hadn't been fixed, and nobody had told us what was happening. The front desk was also unattended some mornings. The breakfast was excellent, but these service and maintenance issues left the stay feeling short of five-star.
