EVOLUTION Valbom Hotel

My room was extremely small and uncomfortable. The window opened onto an enclosed service area full of the building's air-conditioning units, so there was no way to get fresh air and the constant noise meant there was no quiet. Basic things like mugs and tea bags weren't replaced overnight, so I had to ask the staff for them each day. The air conditioner and lights were also really hard to operate, and instructions need to be provided. A frustrating experience that I wouldn't repeat.

The grilled sardines were the highlight for me, fresh, full of flavor, and cooked just right. Ola Sardinha had a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive the whole time. Everything was nicely presented, and I had a really lovely meal. I’d happily go back and recommend it to anyone after good seafood.

The hotel is well placed, with public transport only about two minutes away, and the modern art hotel is also nearby and worth a visit. We spent five days there for our tiny honeymoon, and the staff surprised us with champagne, macarons, and a sweet letter on the table. Such a thoughtful touch. Everyone was helpful, the food was delicious, and there’s a small gym if you want to keep up your routine. We had a lovely time and would definitely return.

The location was ideal, and Evolution made our stay in Portugal a great one. The hotel was clean, modern, and beautifully decorated. Staff were polite and attentive, and really went out of their way to make us comfortable. I can’t wait to stay here again.
