The bathroom lighting was the one real snag for me. There was barely any light, which made doing my makeup difficult because I couldn't see what I was doing. Otherwise, the room was good: quite large, with a really comfortable bed. It's a nice boutique-style hotel. Breakfast was a pleasant buffet, though I would've liked a wider choice; they do replenish things when they run out. For a short stay, it works well.
Breakfast was a highlight, with a very good range of hot and cold dishes. The hotel itself is nice, though some of the furniture looks worn. We had a suite for three nights but were given only two coffee pods and one bottle of water for the whole stay. When I asked for more, the answer was simply no, with no option to pay for them. The minibar had no prices listed either, and the welcome drink I'd booked turned out to be tea only, with no coffee or other drink offered. For what it costs, I expected better.
The biggest problem was the shower. It leaked badly, the floor flooded during use, and the shower was mouldy. Water seemed to be getting trapped where it shouldn't. I feel I may now have some illness from breathing in the mould spores. The shower light was weak as well. If you're driving a small car, go very slowly when exiting the garage because the drop is steep. We were there for three nights and otherwise mostly enjoyed it. The building was beautiful and well placed for buses, trams and the metro, just a short walk from a major transit spot. Reception were helpful and gave us lots of city information. The duvet smelled strongly of perfume, but staff quickly changed the cover for an unscented one. Breakfast was simple but satisfying, with eggs, bacon, fruit, cheese, meats, bread, pastries, cereal and yogurt.
The room felt more like a lovely condo loft than a hotel room: huge, clean, sunny, with floor-to-ceiling windows that opened. The building's SoHo/Greenwich Village (NYC) loft feel, decor, lobby, yard and the lounge on floor -1 were all fantastic. I honestly wanted to move in permanently. There are great places to eat nearby, in a pleasant neighborhood that feels more residential and less crowded with tourists. It's about a 15-minute walk to the city center, and I preferred this area to any other I visited. I stayed May 3-7, 2024, for my last few days in Lisbon, and I'm glad this hotel turned up in my search. The front desk team were amazing, warm, welcoming and professional. They shared a little of the hotel's history and pointed me to the area’s best restaurants. The night staff were great too, and the two women I met cleaning on Sunday were sweet and professional. I had a fantastic stay and can't say enough good things about the hotel or its staff. It may be my go-to place for future Lisbon visits. I recommend it wholeheartedly and look forward to coming back.
The location is very good, but the room and shared areas didn't meet the price. The reception had a stained old sofa and dirty carpet, and the staircase and hallway needed cleaning. Check-in and checkout were confusing. My room had a shower stall raised on a platform in one corner, while the windowless toilet was inside the room in another. The sink was also in the room, with a disconnected, dripping faucet, and the mini fridge didn't work. At reception, one person kept repeating herself while trying to charge me 12 euros in city tax for a one-night stay, though the tax was 4 euros.
