Lisbon City Hollywood Hotel

The room was on the small side, and you can hear a lot through the thin walls, both from outside and other rooms. Still, it was clean and had the basics, including a coffee machine, soap, and shampoo.

The worst part happened on my last night. Heavy rain came in, leaving the bed and my belongings completely soaked. My laptop bag got wet too, and I’m afraid to turn the laptop on. My only pair of shoes for this trip was soaked as well. I told reception, but all I got was “sorry sir,” even after I clearly asked them to do something about it. When I tried to check out, I also needed an invoice because our company had paid for the rooms. The staff member wrote down my email on a piece of paper, but still hadn’t sent anything, even when I pressed him to do it then and there. The rest of the stay was bad too. There was no sound insulation, and I was woken up two or three times each morning by the staff and cleaners. Outside noise and rain came through loudly. Breakfast was mediocre, and none of the staff seemed sure whether it was included in my booking. If they don’t know, who does? The wall air conditioning didn’t change the room temperature whatever setting I chose, and some nights got cold with no way for me to fix it. I almost never post negative reviews, if I ever have before, but this was a really bad experience. Please consider all your options before booking this hotel.

We really appreciated how clean, comfortable, and well kept the room was. The hotel is also in a great spot, only a short walk from the metro, so getting around was easy. The elevator was out of order while we were there, which was inconvenient, and breakfast fell a little short of what we expected. There are a few things to improve, but the location and cleanliness were great.

The staff were kind, polite, and always willing to help. My room was small, but clean and neatly arranged.
