Lisbon Deluxe Flat in Principe Real

The owners were wonderful. They sat with us, shared their favorite places, gave us tips for Madrid, and talked about the architecture of their hotel. The food was great, and our room had every detail covered. After the noise and rush of the city, coming back to this little side-street oasis felt amazing. We spent three nights at Palacio Principe Real and were treated so well. The staff are exceptionally attentive, well trained, and quick to help with anything. I’d recommend staying here over the Four Seasons or any other boutique hotel in Lisbon.

Gail & Myles and their team made us feel incredibly welcome. One evening, roasting chestnuts with the other guests was a special memory. The restoration of this old palace is beautiful, and we feel lucky we got to stay at Palacio Principe Real. A real hidden gem.

Coming back each night after exploring and being greeted by the owners and staff felt like returning to an old friend’s home. They quickly remembered us and looked for ways to help, always attentive and friendly without making it feel overdone. The rooms are comfortable, distinctive, and well appointed, and the property has what you need. It was a truly lovely stay.

The food was fantastic in both quality and presentation, and the service was just as good. Gail and Miles, the English owners, have put so much care into restoring and running the hotel. You can see how much they want each guest to have the stay they hoped for. Inside, there are thoughtful details everywhere. Our room was immaculate, gorgeous, and had very high ceilings. The garden felt like a little escape, with birdsong and a lovely pool. The palace has been restored to its original architectural glory, behind a discreet entrance in busy, sunny Lisbon. It was a magical stay, and I’m not sure another hotel will ever measure up. We can’t wait to return!
