Lisbon Five Stars Apartments 8 Building

The rooms are roomy and well kept, and Pedro is friendly and helpful. The windows need updating, though. They have no stoppers, so when the wind gusts unexpectedly you’re left relying on the air conditioner.

The location made it easy to enjoy Lisbon. We went to the tree-shaded park each morning, liked the food and vibe at Time Out Market, and had the subway, train, and tram station just a block away. After exploring, we were always glad to return to FIVE Star. The apartment was sunny, spacious, and well equipped; our kids especially liked their 4th floor loft overlooking a lively, colorful neighborhood. Five Star Building 8 Apartments worked perfectly for our family reunion. The staff were welcoming and made sure we had what we needed. Pedro arranged a great sailboat cruise on the Tagus River and walked us to his favorite local restaurant. Beatrice and the rest of the staff were always gracious and helpful.

The location may be what you’re paying for, but I wouldn’t stay again. For a place rated “5”* I expected even the spare duvet to be clean. There were spare pillows and duvets in the cupboard, but no covers. The window blind was broken, so getting proper sleep was hard, both because it was too bright and because of the noise from the location. It might suit someone else, but not me.

The room was very large, clean, and comfortable, with a minor WiFi signal problem in the bedroom. Breakfast came boxed each morning by 7 am, and the staff were great. Concierge Pedro was especially pleasant and went above and beyond, arranging dinner reservations and handling check-out details during his off-duty hours. The location is excellent, just a 5 minute walk from Cais do Sodre train, subway, and bus station. I’d stay there again.
