We arrived in the morning after a long flight, but couldn’t wait in the common area until the 2 pm check-in. We weren’t allowed to leave our luggage after checkout either. The double room was tiny and smelled unpleasant. Other places at the same price provide an electric kettle, Nescafé, and tea bags, but there was none of that here, and the kitchen was locked in the morning. I suspect this is an illegal business because there’s no accommodation sign outside or on the downstairs bell. Google calls it a three-star hotel, but it felt more like a poorly managed hostel, with no reception and some residents helping to receive guests in exchange for a discounted stay. Using young people that way is ugly. It’s near the metro but far from tourist attractions. I don’t recommend it.

For the price, it was a comfortable, pleasant place to stay, and the door was secure. The apartment was cleaned often, and the location made it easy to get around by metro. I mostly just came back to sleep. Nothing was stolen, though since it’s a shared bedroom, I wouldn’t leave valuables behind just to be safe.

I spent a few weeks here and it soon felt like a second home. The people were friendly and the atmosphere welcoming. The kitchen was very clean and well equipped, and the shared dorm beds were comfortable, with curtains, a light for privacy, and storage for longer stays. It’s outside the historic center, but several metro stations and supermarkets are an easy walk away. The Gulbenkian Museum and its beautiful, spacious garden are right across the street. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Adriana deserves a big thank you for keeping everything spotless and for being so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

We didn’t feel comfortable at the property. We stayed five nights but wanted to leave sooner. It’s a small place and not great for meeting other young travelers, with long-term guests who’ve lived there for 5+ years. The location isn’t in the tourist center either, and it takes almost an hour to walk there. We don’t recommend it.
