The apartment is in the center of Alfama, close to most tourist attractions, and the location is very convenient. We stayed on the ground floor, which was a good choice because the staircase is very narrow and there's no elevator. The space was adequate, cozy and comfortable, though the bathroom was on the small side. The apartment was clean and well maintained, and the sheets and towels provided were clean, although I noticed some spots on one towel. There's no washing machine. The host had thought of every detail, including a bottle of wine and a first aid kit. The stay was pleasant, and I'd consider staying again.

The thoughtful touches made us feel at home, including a bottle of wine, and the price was fair. The apartment was clean and in a great central spot in Alfama. Getting there takes some effort: the entrance is on an alley where taxis can't pull up, and inside there are several uneven flights of stairs with no lift. It won't suit anyone with mobility difficulties or much luggage. The mattress was soft and lumpy, and the towels had a slight cigarette smell, though the apartment itself smelled fine and was very clean. We might stay again if the mattress has been replaced.

We ended up staying three nights in a cozy apartment that looked almost new, though it was a bit small. We had planned on four nights, but the host cancelled the first one. All in all, the stay was okay.
