The location is excellent, and the price is great for what you get. We had a spacious room with comfortable beds, plus a kitchen for cooking, which was handy. Nights can be a little noisy because it's so central, but at this price it was perfectly adequate.

A clean, cosy, inexpensive guesthouse right in the heart of Lisbon. It's about what you'd expect, and you can't really ask for much more. ♥️😊 You're in Portugal to see the country, after all, not just relax in a hotel. Stay at the LX and get out to explore the city and beyond.

The manager admitted he'd known the toilet was broken for two whole weeks before we arrived and hadn't told us. He also refused to move us to another room. After the first night we booked somewhere else, but he gave us NOTHING back on our five-night booking, even though he agreed to contact booking. He ignored every message. This was the worst stay I've ever had. The room was dirty and moldy, the sheets had blood on them, and the toilet didn't work.

The neighborhood is lively, with restaurants, bars and shops everywhere. Lidl is two minutes away, the metro stop is very close, and Bairro alto is walkable. The location is perfect. The room wasn't luxurious, but everything worked: AC, a decent-sized fridge, hot water, good beds and a TV with lots of channels. We didn't need cleaning or other service during our week, so I can't comment on that. The room had clear directions for contacting staff if we needed anything. It's a very old building, so it can get noisy, and the elevator was old enough that we took the stairs. If you want luxury, spend more somewhere else. For a cheaper stay with the basics and a great location, this is just fine.

That low price let me stay an extra night or two on my first Lisbon trip. I've spent six nights here and had a positive experience, though you shouldn't expect a luxury hotel. For my next visit, I'd probably pay more for a higher quality place in the same area and stay fewer nights, since I won't need as long to explore. The best thing is the location. I was a five minute walk from amazing restaurants and bars I might otherwise have missed. Transport links are good and plenty of places are walkable. Lidl is a minute away, with a decent bakery section that saved me from going out for breakfast every day. My room also had a private balcony of a decent size. The room wasn't cleaned during my stay, but for the price I could live with that. It looked a bit dated, though nothing was particularly dirty like some reviews claimed. The old building made some annoying noises at night. The person who checked us in didn't speak fluent English, but was polite even though my flight delay made me late. I'd worried about missing check-in. The entrance isn't obvious. You need to buzz the third floor, since it's a residential building. The elevator looked very old and like it might be out of service sometimes. I booked this as a flight package without checking the reviews first, then saw several negative, brief ones just before leaving. For someone who wants quantity over quality, though, I would recommend it.
