Merces by Central Hill Apartments

We worried that the central location might mean too much noise, especially with our big family group and young teens, but it wasn't a problem. The apartment was very large, stylish, clean, and right in the center.

A clean, comfortable apartment in the heart of Lisbon. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in this area.

The promised view was barely there. To catch a glimpse of the bridge, you have to stand on a chair, reach up to the skylight, and stick your head out. We won't be coming back. Private rentals are significantly cheaper and much nicer. The apartment itself feels outdated, and the photos have been retouched. In the living room, the sofas were so stained we didn't dare sit down, and one armchair was completely shredded. The red armchair in the upstairs bedroom was wrecked too, with a spring pushing the seat out by at least 25 cm, so it couldn't be used. The beds were another problem. The downstairs double bed was so low that the two people sleeping in it rolled around during the night. Upstairs, the other double bed creaked extremely loudly with even the slightest movement. There was significant mold in the bathrooms, and the parquet floors were badly damaged. The place also needs a fresh coat of paint.

I have lovely memories of staying here.
